Description
Summary:When this article deals with "Literature an Independence", it is worthy analyzing, even superficially, "the enlightened people" in the New Granada, and their role of cultural shaping of their society. This will allow us to seek the idea of a cultural independence of literature, and to present the figure of two great writers who embody two ways of taking the challenge of that independence: Andres Bello and Domingo Faustino Sarmiento.
