On the one hand, I will highlight how these worldwide with special emphasis on Latin to lay concrete foundations did what is the reality of the observatories in Colombia.Moreover, I will demonstrate the use so far is giving these entities is not the society needs and then propose guidelines for a new observatories addressing family in Colombia; marking which is to be the process that private and public actors must continue without neglecting human rights and our constitution.Este documento proyecta demostrar por qué los observatorios de familia en Colombia no se desempeñan dentro de la idea original que los cobijó en su creación.Se realiza una revisión desde el ámbito de la definición de familia para pasar al tratamiento que el Derecho Internacional ha fijado a la par de lo que es propio en Colombia, y se reflexiona sobre cómo suelen haber grandes contrastes dentro del mismo derecho para solventar y salvaguardar a la familia.
