The results show that Santander faces big challenges in their efforts against poverty. Indeed, we observe concerning levels of poverty in the municipalities which are more distant to the capital city and a notorious disparity between rural and urban areas of municipalities.En este trabajo se aborda el fenómeno de la pobreza en el departamento de Santander (Colombia) entre los años 2004 y 2010. A partir de un enfoque integrado de la pobreza y el uso de datos de la Encuesta SISBÉN 2010, se estiman tres indicadores de uso común para los 87 municipios de Santander: Línea de Pobreza (LP), Índice de Necesidades Básicas Insatisfechas (NBI) e Índice de Pobreza integrada (o Método Kaztman). Los resultados muestran que Santander se enfrenta a grandes desafíos en sus esfuerzos contra la pobreza.
