Summary: | Textual typology and objective. This article aims to identify the family as a social support network and determine its influence on a group of university students.Methodology. It is descriptive within a qualitative approach. The results point out to the configuration of good relationships between parents and children, although a difference in the perception of the children regarding the family as a social support network.Conclusions. According to this, the family also represents an integral support, nevertheless, they referred to aspects that affect the relationship such as the short time to share with their parents, especially related to the occupations and the imitation of spaces for dialogue. On the other hand, the parents stated that for their children the family means a network of social support in their different life experiences, although they recognized that it is possible that some characteristics of the life cycle in which young people are, are affecting the structure and the family relationship patterns. Likewise, a greater recognition by the children towards the maternal figure was identified as a social support network. |
