Description
Summary:This essay traces the historical journey of the "Republic of Colombia" as envisioned, planned and created by Simon Bolivar. Bolivar's "Republic of Colombia" was the union of which later became three different republics, now known as Venezuela, Colombia and Ecuador. Bolivar, partially uses a Miranda's idea (the "Colombeia" from the Precursor's continental dream), and this Essay illustrates the configuration of the Bolivarian project, from its beginning to its dissolution, which practically coincides with the death of the Liberator. The History of "Colombia" is located here within the context of the Bolivarian struggle for independence of Northern and Central South America.
