Introducción: todos los organismos vivos opera un reloj biológico sincronizado a 24 horas al día. Este reloj interior controla una gran variedad de funciones bioquímicas, fisiológicas que se llaman fluctuaciones de ciclos, incluidos el del comportamiento, el del sueño y la actividad, que colectivamente se les llaman los ritmos circadianos, así que el objetivo es exponer los principales factores del ritmo circadiano y su asociación con el rendimiento deportivo a partir de evidencia científica actualizada. Metodología: Se llevó a cabo una revisión bibliográfica de estudios científicos publicados, bases de datos actualizados principalmente en PubMed (Medline, National Library of Medicine, NIH, EE. UU.), y ScienceDirect (Biblioteca Electrónica de Ciencia y Tecnología). Se seleccionaron varios artículos entre el periodo (2000-2021) que permitieron destacar los contenidos más relevantes. Conclusión: Se estableció que existen diversas variabilidades en los diferentes patrones del ciclo circadiano, adicionalmente tiene diversos tipos de manifestaciones en el rendimiento deportivo principalmente cuando estos patrones están asociados con el sueño. |

Metodología: Se llevó a cabo una revisión bibliográfica de estudios científicos publicados, bases de datos actualizados principalmente en PubMed (Medline, National Library of Medicine, NIH, EE. UU.), y ScienceDirect (Biblioteca Electrónica de Ciencia y Tecnología). Se seleccionaron varios artículos entre el periodo (2000-2021) que permitieron destacar los contenidos más relevantes. Conclusión: Se estableció que existen diversas variabilidades en los diferentes patrones del ciclo circadiano, adicionalmente tiene diversos tipos de manifestaciones en el rendimiento deportivo principalmente cuando estos patrones están asociados con el sueño.Introduction: All living organisms operate a biological clock synchronized 24 hours a day. This inner clock controls a wide variety of biochemical, physiological functions called cycle fluctuations, including that of behavior, sleep, and activity, which collectively are called circadian rhythms, so the goal is to expose the main factors of circadian rhythm and its association with sports performance from up-to-date scientific evidence. Metodology: A bibliographic review of published scientific studies was conducted, databases updated mainly in PubMed (Medline, National Library of Medicine, NIH, U.S. and ScienceDirect (Electronic Library of Science and Technology). Several articles were selected between the period (2000-2021) that allowed highlighting the most relevant contents.
