CONSIDERACIONES AMBIENTALES EN LA PLANIFICACIÓN URBANA. LA CIUDAD: ¿UN ECOSISTEMA?

La ponencia forma parte de los resultados de un trayecto de investigación sobre los temas del medio ambiente urbano y sus implicaciones en la planificación urbana y el desarrollo urbano de ciudades intermedias en Colombia. La investigación plantea unas reflexiones en torno a la viabilidad de reconocer o no a la ciudad como un ecosistema dentro de un contexto urbano-ambiental; primero se precisará sobre la ciudad intermedia colombiana; segundo se definirá cuál es el ambiente de la ciudad; tercero se conceptualizará sobre la opción de reconocer a la ciudad como un ecosistema para así mitigar el proceso dinámico de una gran problemática ambiental causada por los asentamientos humanos; y por último, se expondrán algunas conclusiones que pretenderán incidir en la futura toma de decisiones para planificar el territorio desde una visión ecosistémica.ABSTRACTThis paper is part of the results of an investigation passage on the subjects of the urban environment and their implications in the urban planning and development of intermediate cities in Colombia. The investigation inspires reflections around the viability to recognize or not the city as anecosystem within an urban-environmental context; first of all, the text will clarify conceptson the Colombian intermediate city; second, it will define which is the atmosphere of thecity; third it will establish concepts on the option of recognizing the city as an ecosystem thus to mitigate the dynamic process of a great environmental problematic an one causedby the slumses; and finally, some conclusions will be exposed that will pretend to affectfuture decision making in order to plan the territory from an ecosystemic vision.
