In order to develop this objective, a critical documentary review of a qualitative and socio-legal point of view was chosen, applied to clinical, legal and scientific elements that account for the implications of the discriminatory and violating actions perpetrated against pregnant women from the interrelationships with institutions such as the legal or political. Finally, the need to implement legal and political resources for the protection of pregnant women is presented within the process of developing gender perspective in Colombia.En este artículo se propone analizar la violencia obstétrica como una forma de violencia de género que actúa en orden de la violencia y discriminación estructural en contra de la mujer en Colombia. Para desarrollar este objetivo, se optó por una revisión crítica documental de carácter cualitativo y sociojurídica, aplicada sobre elementos clínicos, legales y científicos que diesen cuenta de las implicaciones de las acciones discriminatorias y violatorias perpetradas contra las mujeres gestantes desde las interrelaciones con instituciones como las legales o políticas.
