| Summary: | One of the precepts of the Jewish religion, contained in both written and oral law, is that of Tzedakah. This concept, which could be translated as “righteousness”, can be thought of as germane to the field of social justice, insofar as its objective is to alleviate or reverse those situations of inequality contained in the center society through the acts of charity of its members. Its continued practice by the pious would therefore lead to Tikkun ha-Olam, that is, to an improvement in society whose ultimate consequence would be the reparation of the world, since the goal of peace would be complete or closer to its conclusion. In these pages we will focus on the development of this term and how it has been transmitted orally through contemporary literature as a value within an educational culture. |
