Summary: | This paper outlines a sex education programme carried out with the parents of secondary school students taking part in a similar programme simultaneously. Results reveal an increase in participants' overall level of satisfaction with their bodies, self-concept, and self-esteem, as well as an increased knowledge about sexual organs and nutrition. There was also a rise in the number of egalitarian attitudes toward the two sexes and positive attitudes toward sexuality. Overall, participants' evaluations of the programme were positive. They pointed out the importance of implementing programmes such as these, which offer an alternative to the traditional model of education centered mainly on rational intelligence, and which encourage more holistic development of personality among teenagers.
