Se planteó un método no experimental de tipo ex post facto, transeccional-correlacional; se recolectaron datos mediante instrumentos que evaluaron las variables en estudio. Participaron 34 hombres distribuidos así: 17 maltratadores y 17 no maltratadores; sus edades oscilaron entre 25 y 58 años. Para la recolección de datos, se utilizaron las siguientes pruebas para funciones ejecutivas: Rey- Copia, STROOP, Wisconsin, TMT y Laberintos de Porteus; para cognición social: Faux pas, test de historias, test de ojos, test de caras y EQ-Cambridge. El análisis de resultados se realizó mediante el SPSS 22. En general, los resultados de la investigación permiten concluir que existe relación entre las tareas que evalúan funciones ejecutivas y aquellas que evalúan cognición social, presentando un mejor desempeño el grupo de hombres no maltratadores. Estos resultados constituyen una fuente para el direccionamiento de estrategias de intervención y orientación en las decisiones judiciales.

According to this, the aim of the present study was to establish if there is a relation between executive functions and the performance on duties which evaluate social cognition in a group of male abusers. A non-experimental method of ex post facto type, transactional-correlational was applied; data were gathered by means of instruments that evaluated the variables of the study. Thirty four men participated, they were divided like this: seventeen batterers and seventeen non- batterers between twenty five and fifty eight years. For data gathering, these tests were used for executive functions: Rey-Copy, STROOP, Wisconsin, TMT, Porteus Crossroad and for social cognition: Faux pas, Stories test, eyes test, face test and EQ-Cambridge. SPSS 22 was used for data analysis. In general, the results of this research allow to conclude that there is a relation between the performance on duties which evaluate executive functions and those that evaluate social cognition.
