description La Inteligencia artificial se ha convertido en un gran aliado de las ciencias de la salud, apoyando procesos preventivos, de detección, de diagnóstico, tratamientos, consulta, entre otros. Una de las especialidades médicas es la odontología, que se ha convertido en un área muy demandada, tanto por salud como por estética. En este artículo se realiza una revisión sistemática sobre los aportes encontrados de la Inteligencia Artificial al campo odontológico, con el fin de reconocer las condiciones para las cuales se emplea e identificar si su uso es con fines de diagnóstico o tratamiento. Además, se identifican los algoritmos más utilizados. Este trabajo busca dar una visión de los avances o investigaciones logradas en los últimos años, con el fin de apoyar futuros estudios que contribuyan al mejoramiento de la salud humana, en especial a nivel oral.

One of the medical specialties is dentistry, which has become a highly in-demand area, both for health and aesthetics. In this article, a systematic review is carried out on the contributions found of Artificial Intelligence to the dental field, in order to recognize the conditions for which it is used and identify whether its use is for diagnostic or treatment purposes. In addition, the most used algorithms are identified.
