Due to the large resources mobilized through such entities and the sector’s importance in the economy of a country, state intervention in the financial sector is necessary.The major financial crises that have occurred throughout history teach us that the financial markets by themselves do not always work properly, as they present faults like any other market, and it is for these failure that state presence is justified, using tools such as regulation and supervision, thus allowing markets behave properly generating efficiency but also equity.El sistema financiero en Colombia como en cualquier país del mundo se encuentra constituido por diferentes instituciones, autoridades y agentes económicos que operan en el mercado de manera profesional y especializada, haciendo que las economías fluyan generando riqueza y desarrollo. Debido a los grandes recursos que se movilizan a través de dicha entidades y la importancia del sector financiero en la economía de un país, se hace necesaria la intervención del Estado.Las grandes crisis financieras que se han dado a lo largo de la historia nos enseñan que el mercado financiero a pesar de ser un mercado especializado, por sí mismo no siempre funciona correctamente, pues presenta fallas como cualquier otro mercado, y es ante estas fallas que la presencia del Estado se justifica, mediante herramientas como la regulación y supervisión, permitiendo así, que los mercados se comporten de manera adecuada y generen eficiencia, pero también equidad.Le système financier en Colombie comme un pays dans le monde est formé par différentes institutions, les autorités et les acteurs économiques opérant sur le marché de manière professionnelle et spécialisée, la création de richesse et de développement des économies.
