El proyecto de construcción de un Lugar de Aprendizaje e Interpretación Minera Fura y Tena, en la zona de Muzo y Quípama, busca ampliar las posibilidades económicas y sociales de la población de esta región, con el fortalecimiento de sectores como el turismo, el patrimonio cultural y la memoria de esta zona del occidente de Boyacá, que se caracteriza por el contraste entre la riqueza minera producto de la explotación de esmeraldas, y la difícil situación social que vive la población. Mientas que las minas son explotadas por empresas privadas, los pobladores de la región viven en medio de la informalidad, la pobreza y las pocas fuentes de empleo. Con la construcción de este lugar se espera ampliar la oferta de empleo con la potenciación del turismo y otras actividades económicas de la región que minimizarán las dificultades económicas que vive la población. |
