Description
Summary:The current article is a piece of the investigation “The institutionalization of Physical Education as a school discipline in Toluca´s primaries, from 1959 until 1970”; it was taken out of the Magisterium Magazine. The objective of this article is to introduce that the Physical Education Seminary was an academic site of special capacitation for the teachers, and also that sports, traditional games and rounds were the contents used by Lic. Juan Fernández Albarrán, who served as Governor of the State of Mexico (1963-1969), during the period of 1966 to 1968, in order to incorporate Physical Education in primary schools. The theoretical view is from the history of the press releases and the history of education. It concludes that Physical Education Seminary unified teaching in the state, incorporating games and rounds for the two first grades of primary school; sports practiced by gender in the two later grades.
