La población de San Sebastian de palmitas, corregimiento de Medellin, reclama protección de su identidad y freno al proceso de expansión de la ciudad, pues consideran que aunque la distancia geográfica y administrativa que han tenido de la ciudad, los ha mantenido aislados de las dinámicas económicas y culturales de la región, les ha permitido cultivar una tradición campesina y un talante rural que quieren conservar y cualificar. La primera acción que toma la comunidad es participar en el concurso SER MEJOR, organizado por la secretaria de educación del municipio de Medellin, durante el año 2018, con el proyecto CONSTRUYENDO IDENTIDADES CAMPESINAS EN LA ESCUELA, donde rescatan saberes y costumbres locales para cultivar la identidad del territorio, en el marco de un evento llamado: Feria de la Antioqueñidad. La propuesta acoge las experiencias de las 7 escuelas que conforman El Centro Educativo La Aldea, que en conjunto buscan, desde la educación contextualizada, identificar intereses, necesidades y potencialidades del territorio rural y resaltar la importancia de la población campesina. Allí resultaron ganadores de un premio por $CATORCE millones de pesos, que quieren invertir en un mobiliario expositivo para mejorar las condiciones de exhibición de sus productos gastronómicos y artísticos. La Universidad Santo Tomas, con el propósito de ser un actor positivo en la transformación de las comunidades, contactó a la líder educativa Gilma Pastora Ayala Franco, rectora de El centro educativo la aldea y a través de la estudiante Andrea Vanegas Grisales, y con el acompañamiento del docente Gerardo Abril Carrascal, se le ha dado forma a un mueble expositivo transformable que servirá no solo para el proyecto, y su feria de la Antioqueñidad, sino también para todos los otros eventos culturales o académicos que se desarrollan allí. |
