Description
Summary:The main objective of this research consists in the analysis of the levels of evidence and trends towards the quality of life of the elderly in Latin America. It was intended to establish a critical analysis in relation to the absence of information regarding the topic of interest evidenced in the search. The methodology used was a systematic review of research carried out in Latin America between 2015 and 2020, oriented towards the search for information about the quality of life of older adults under certain inclusion criteria such as: Period of publication, language, the field of psychology as an area of interest and the combination of keywords that determined the results in the databases used: Scielo, Dialnet and Science Direct. The results yielded 158 documents in relation to the elderly, quality of life and comprehensive care, after applying the inclusion criteria and conducting an individual review of the documents, the search was reduced to 74 articles among which 4 investigations were selected meeting the criteria established for the analysis. Finally, it could be concluded that most of the research found is aimed at exploring conditions that older adults present, but few are focused on improving the quality of life, which restricts the possibilities of acting in the face of the problem of the elderly.
