| Summary: | In this paper, contingency for maternity is analyzed according to the rules of Social Security Systems in Colombia. We specifically study the scope of maternity legal protection given to working women in Colombia with the aim of preventing discrimination due to maternity in the world of work, and new ideas are suggested to increase the scope of legal protection, emphasizing the relevance of these rights concerning job, which ensures security for working mothers, stable permanence in jobs, and the possibility of combining mothers´ labour life with their family life successfully so that they may not have to give up any of them. Thus, both analyzed legislations, and members of ILO fulfil Conventions about the Protection for Maternity in work. |
