Summary: | Objective: Establish the level of psychomotor skills in children with mild cognitive disabilities in an institution in Cartagena. Methods: This research work has a non-experimental descriptive quantitative approach. Where the population is children who comprise the ages of 6 to 12 years, who have as a diagnosis mild cognitive disability and who do not present medical contraindications for the performance of psychomotor activities. This degree work uses the Ozerestki Test as a reference to evaluate psychomotor skills and thus establish deficiencies. Results: The total population evaluated was 16 children, of which 12 are male and 4 female, which shows that 75% of the population is male. In the study group a percentage of 56% is located in stratum 0, 1 and 2; in strata 3 and 4, a percentage of 37% and in children from stratum 5 onwards a percentage of 6% of the sample. In coordination oculculo manual 7 participants carry out the activities according to their age; in dynamic coordination and postural control 6 children show similarity between chronological age and psychomotor age; in segmentary control 8 they carried out their activities according to their age; in ocular laterality 9 children present predominance by the right eye, in manual laterality 15 children are right-handed and pedal laterality the entire population performed activities with right foot. Conclusion: Most children with mild disabilities have difficulty performing activities or psychomotor tests corresponding to their psychomotor age, but they have control of their body and overall relaxation without changes between their chronological age and psychomotor age. |
