| Summary: | This review article collects information from research conducted over a period of time from 2010 onwards. The issue which it deals with is about adolescence in one of its contemporary manifestations such as tattoos, it draws attention particularly for researchers because they are permanent body marks. Throughout the text, the central categories such as adolescence, history of the practice of tattooing and what it expresses, which allowed to answer the question posed on the meaning and the sense that teenagers give tattoes on their bodies. This research is qualitative, descriptive based on a cross-sectional approach, where an understanding from different perspectives such as, anthropology, sociology, and as the main theory of psychoanalysis to understand the practice of tattooing is offered. |
