Description
Summary:The following research work aimed to analyze the correlation between physical motor skills and motivation in young people between 14 and 16 years of the ninth grade of the Educational Institution La Salle de Envigado. The physical capacities of speed, explosive force, reaction speed and flexibility were evaluated using the battery of Jáuregui and Ordoñez (1993). Regarding the motivational component, a motivation questionnaire called the AMPTET Test was implemented ”. Finally, the correlation between physical abilities and motivation was made. The research was carried out under a quantitative correlative methodology, where 49 ninth grade students participated. In the female gender, the qualification in terms of motivation was positive, the physical education class is a space for them to be motivated to generate learning strategies; With regard to the fisicomotrices capacities, the women presented better results in the tests of flexibility and explosive strength. There were no correlations between both variables. According to the masculine gender, the motivation towards the physical education class presented positive results in the strategy and assessment of learning; while in the fisicomotrices capacities the men who were faster in the test of 20 meters were also the fastest in the one of 50 meters
