Enseñanzas del proceso de erradicación de asentamientos marginales en Córdoba, Argentina

The social-housing program focused towards population groups marginally settled on the banks of the waterways in the city of Córdoba, Argentina, summarizes the institutional effort made towards some problems such as the deficit of urban housing and poverty. Through this field work, carried out during the research done in a mega-neighborhood constructed by the government of the province of Córdoba, it is possible to analyze the effects of the actions of eradication and change of place of an entire population and to consider whether this in itself contributes to improving their quality of life. By evaluating the consequences of locating a poor community outside the urban limits, on lands of low value, characterized by highly precarious environmental and social conditions, it contributes to the understanding of common actions within the Latin-American context.
