Summary: | El Carmen de Viboral is a village located in the east of Antioquia, its land rich in feldspar and its different water sources made it the ideal place to work the art of pottery (cooked mud). In the course of history this activity underwent several changes both, formal and cultural, responding to different factors which generated changes; for example, one of these corresponded to the activation of the role of women in the household economy, as it plays an important role in the decoration of these pieces, thus generating a monetary entry for their family circle. The case of El Carmen is an example of how the object is a dynamic element in society, its interaction with people goes beyond solving a need by which the object was designed, the relationship that has with the user is also symbolic, creates aesthetic relationship and visual language. People not only use an object for its utilitarian value but also because they identify with it, making an acceptance link, this is related to how designers interpret the user to create a product or object consistent with their lifestyle and context. This paper aims to show the importance of the interaction and inclusion of the context and user in the creation of an object, how the object should be seen as an important part of social dynamics since its scope of intervention to the community may be greater than its use value. |
