Duelo por pérdida de la libertad en el contexto carcelario

This theoretical review article constitutes a systematic collection through various bibliographic sources on losses, generalities of grief and coping strategies in persons deprived of liberty. Initially, the generalities of mourning are approached from different perspectives of authors and theories, to later move on to mourning in people deprived of liberty. This article is qualitative and descriptive. The information was collected through 50 bibliographic records of theoretical articles, also reflection and review articles, between the years 1915 and 2020. In addition, it is carried out with the objective of describing the grieving processes in people deprived of liberty, their coping strategies and the impact on their quality of life, as a contribution to research: bereavement, coping strategies, quality of life in the prison context. With this exercise it is concluded that the losses and the grieving process are highly affected by the context of imprisonment
