Description
Summary:The present work will address the effects of art therapy with the technique of the mandala in children with attention deficit hyperactivity, initially starting with the ADHD, it appears in childhood and in some cases the symptoms decrease in adolescence. This condition is common in childhood development appearing in 3% of children, with a predominance of 6 to 9 times more in males. In Colombia, the rate of this diagnosis is greater, the disparity with respect to the other regions of the world can be explained from several factors as psychosocial risk of the population environment from which the samples are taken, what is relevant is that only 7 , 4% of children diagnosed with ADHD receive a structured diagnosis of psychiatry that confirms the disorder, and only 6.6% of children who suffer from it receive treatment. Currently, ADHD has increased its appearance in children, impacting all areas of its development and becoming a public health problem, leading us to make a documentary review to identify the progress made throughout its evolution, the prevalence and comorbidity investigated up to now, the overdiagnosis, its consequences, the access to the appropriate intervention and the evolution of the multiple treatments existing up to now, among which art therapy is an innovative proposal to generate awareness of the importance of developing different skills
