Summary: | In this work, the effect of the incorporation of hydroxyapatite and comonomer containing amine groups on the mechanical, thermical, morphological and chemical properties of acrylic bone cements was studied. Cements was prepared with 2-diethyl amino ethyl acrylate (DEAEA) as comonomer in the liquid phase. It was found that strength and modulus decreased with increasing comonomer content in bending and compressive tests. It was also observed the same behavior wih the peak temperatura and setting time. Strength compressive was also evaluated after soaking the specimens in Simulated Body Fluid (SBF) for one month. It was found that strength increase 1 Mpa when the samples were stored in SBF. |
