Summary: | WHO considers health education as the set of educational activities designed to develop health-related knowledge in the population, foster values, attitudes and skills in people that promote health. Therefore, it is essential that it begins at school, bringing aspects of daily life closer to students regarding their health and care. Objective: to analyze recent research on health knowledge and practices in educational settings. Methodology: search for articles related to knowledge and practices in health in educational settings; using the following databases: Scielo, Google academic, Dialnet, Redalcy, 3 Scopus, Ebsco; as well as institutional repositories of the University of Cartagena, San Martín de Porres, Nacional, and San Buenaventura. Results: from the results found in the bibliographic search, a total of 100 documents were obtained, including academic articles and theses. Twenty of them met the pertinent criteria for inclusion in this research. Likewise, 15 documents were discarded for exhaustive reading since they did not provide fundamental theory for the development of writing. Therefore, 14 articles, 2 systematic reviews and 4 theses were taken into account for the thematic content. Conclusions: therefore, the importance of health education lies in being able to communicate about knowledge that improves knowledge and doing, and the development of behaviors aimed at preserving the health of the individual, family and community, in order to achieve healthy lifestyles, and not to leave community action aside |
