Summary: | The project of reduction of manufacturing cycle times in the line of tops, was carried out in the company Tulipán SAS, an PYME located in the city of Santiago de Cali, which had as objective to reduce to 22 minutes the manufacturing time of each unit of top, which was in 26.9 minutes, because of the above the company lost retail sales and generated inconvenience among its customers by request. For the elaboration of this project, the Lean Six Sigma philosophy applied with the DMAIC methodology was used, reducing waste, variability and manufacturing times. We obtained 3 root causes on which the actions were carried out, the improvements were implemented and the impact of each one was studied separately and, a final control was carried out with all the improvements implemented, which was achieved by an adjusted and focused process, managing to produce 47.5% of the tops manufactured within the specifications, which previously did not occur at all. |
