Significación en términos de pérdidas y ganancias de la relación paralela que han tenido sus esposos durante su relación conyugal: el caso de un grupo de mujeres, madres residentes en la ciudad de Cali

Objective. The overall purpose of this research was to characterize the significance -in terms of gains and losses- that attribute three women, mothers, residents in the city of Cali of the parallel relationship that their husbands have sustained. Method. This was a qualitative, descriptive, transversal research based on a case of study through the use of in depth interviews of three women who are married by religious or civil means or who are cohabiting couples and whose partners have a parallel relationship happening for longer than 5 years. Results. It is generally found that in the significance of this experience, these women advised more losses than gains, and these losses are mainly located in the family ambit, followed by the economic one. Regarding the gains, it is observed that the personal and social ambits are the ones which reveal more gains and that the economic ambit is in which they least state, therefore it is consistent that is an ambit that represents more losses than gains.
