Description
Summary:The aim of this paper is to present a brief overview of the state of gender in Mexico. Five areas were addressed: legislation, gender inequality in education, participation of women in the labor market, participation of women in political life, and gender in entrepreneurship, to submit gender gaps. It is a descriptive documentary work. The main findings are: Poverty affects women more strongly for being the ones who, more often than men, lack economic autonomy. There are still gaps in the field of economic and political participation, women undertake the impossibility to advance in their careers within an organization. The implications of the research in this field is that it is clear that policies to promote gender equality have not permeated and gaps still exist especially in the economic field and workplace, so it is necessary to conduct an empirical research to bear witness to this situation and to give a wakeup call to those who hold the generation of public policies with a gender perspective in their hands.
