Description
Summary:This paper intends to corroborate whether the symptom of academic failure as a pulsional satisfaction of the student links to their life story and if by building a knowledge in their psychoanalysis treatment, mitigates the symptom of academic failure. In that order, by coming back to works of Freud and Lacan, and contemporary authors to understand the notion of symptom; using also clinical vignettes that allow elaborating about symptom formation as a sign of ‘something that isn’t right with the individual’. Finally, it elaborates about direction of treatment, as a notion of the hysterical discourse in Lacan and the term of desire-to-know as a possibility of conflict resolution for the subject.
