Summary:This research arises from unknowns about mental illness and processes of social inclusion of people who suffer, so he asked about attitudes present in family and community members against patients with mental illness of Cali. a close relative to a person with mental illness, no close family , two common person , where one of them belongs to a religious community , the information was collected through semi -structured interviews : four participants were selected. The information was analyzed to identify cognitive, emotional, behavioral and regulatory aspects, which were characterized attitudes towards mental illness and who carries the diagnosis. Demonstrating a hidden interest in maintaining normal from the inclusion and exclusion of the patient. It was found that the attitudes of family and ordinary people are linked to conceptual gaps that the individual meets with explanations of the environment
