Summary:This paper aims to reflect on the psychological suffering of Military before the labor retirement pension; Work is something fundamental in human life, much of their lives is invested in it, is a source of satisfaction, social position and development, fostering the creation of social ties and giving a place of recognition; Military activity due to the satisfaction of the drive, the libidinal investment and a narcissistic position of the subject. Military career is characterized by daily training, subordination, discipline, respect and permanent availability. By the labor retirement these links are broken and that is where the subject starts to suffer a range of symptoms that lead him to a mental suffering, a process which also affects their family environment. It is essential that the retired military working all stages of mourning for the lost object, strengthening the ego functions linked to self-esteem, reinventing new roles in new spaces, understanding the withdrawal of the armed forces as an opportunity to develop skills and competencies unexplored and an opportunity to enjoy family experiences unlived.
