Summary: | The aim of the present work is to design an improvement plan for the reduction of defects in the confection process in the production plant of the company OCTUS SAS, based on the DMAIC tools of the Lean Six Sigma methodology, in order to reduce the defects that are detected when producing the different types of garments. Considering this, the percentage of day defects was taken as a measurement variable, based on the requirements established by the company. The costs directly affect the company due to the defects that are generated; in fact, the imperfect units must be reprocessed and recovered in an additional process causing additional costs. Due to this, it is decided to evaluate each of the alternatives solutions proposed in this project to reduce the percentage of defects 2.3% having the current level at 13.17% and positively impact on the operating costs of the company. As well, the alternatives solutions was standardized to ensure that the percentage of defects continues decreasing at the end of the project. |
