Summary: | The degree work entitled, Assessment of Risk of Falls in the Physically Active Elderly Population of the Granito de Paz Foundation was developed in the city of Cartagena de Indias. In addition to assessing the risk of falls in the population of the elderly, this work aims to become an input to generate prevention pedagogy; Through the recommendations exposed as a result of the research, it will be proposed to generate the necessary corrections and improvements to provide safer spaces and with this, better quality of life for the users of the foundation. For the development of the objectives, the transversal quantitative research was implemented; the way in which the research was carried out is described below. Older adults between the ages of 60 and 80 belonging to the peace granite foundation who met the inclusion criteria were evaluated by the Ducan functional scope scale, this scale assesses the risk of falls in the elderly, some of The criteria of the scale that were taken into account are loss of balance, visual problems, age, sex, and finally, the subjects participating in this research work were asked for their consent through signed minutes. The results of this work, in addition to becoming evaluation material for the degree of undergraduate students of the Physiotherapy program of the University of San Buenaventura, also seeks to generate an input for future research in the field of physiotherapy in the city of Cartagena. Thus, within the work, there is consultation material that contains the socio-demographic characterization of the population where the research was carried out; clinical diagnosis of the elderly of the foundation and a complete evaluation on the identification of risk of falls. |
