Description
Summary:The accelerated loss of plant coverages has caused irreparable damage to the ecosystems and biodiversity in which they live. Because of this, today is very important and necessary to have full knowledge of the forest species found in our territories. The purpose is to preserve and quantify biomass ecosystems contain using advanced technologies capturing information in short time, with precises results and lower production cost. One of these is known as LiDAR (acronym for Light Detection and Ranging), this one allows measuring distances from objects located far away, emitting electromagnetic pulses. In addition, this technology has several applications among which we find the estimation of dasometric variables in plant coverages.According to previous information, this document present an estimate based on LiDAR data of the biomass whose interest area is located in Antioquia, department of Colombia, specifically in a town called Barbosa, where we find Filoverde with an area of 1,82 hectares (ha) next to Rio Grande near to Niquia – Hatillo highway above kilometer 25 following by Parque de las Aguas recreation center. This biomass is subsequently contrasted with the one calculated with taken data in the study area determining the difference between both measures
