Summary:This work presents a line of research aimed at studying the relationship of parenting styles in prosocial behavior in adolescents of an educational institution in the department of Bolívar. Based on the consideration that, the context and parenting guidelines of parents significantly mark children's living conditions and the comprehensive development of adolescent behavior. The objective of this is to describe the influence of parenting styles on prosocial behavior in adolescents of an educational institution in the department of Bolívar. The methodology used is a quantitative approach, which is evident in the management of statistical data, the results of which will be analyzed using descriptive estimators. The main results are found consistently in all the investigations that have dealt with this topic, positive parenting produces beneficial effects on children while negative parenting correlates with the appearance of various problems in children, so the resulting findings are not contradictory to the postulates that guide and support the theoretical framework of this study, it was possible to establish as an analysis that there is a total correspondence between the parenting styles and the prosocial behavior of these students, the theories analyzed, verified with the results obtained, show that the habits and Parenting styles are related to aggressive behavioral difficulties and emotional instability of these adolescents.
