Description
Summary:Introduction: Muscular strength is a fundamental component in physical performance, playing a crucial role in the development and improvement of physical abilities. In the University context, where students are involved in various activities related to the profession, it is important to preserve this force. It was decisive to carry out the research using these variables; Thus, the characterization of maximum force by means of dynamometry, in relation to the resistance force was carried out through the maximum resistance test in one minute (squats, abdominals and push-ups), as for the explosive force it was evaluated with the help of the Abalakov test. In addition, it will provide valuable information for groups and institutions with similar studies, since there are few studies of this type in the city of Cartagena. Objective: To determine the maximum, resistance and explosive strength in students of the University of San Buenaventura in the last three semesters of the Physiotherapy program. Methodology: Research with a quantitative approach; observational and descriptive which, seeks to quantify the individual characteristics in the three different types of muscular forces of the students. Microsoft Excel was used to store the database. Results: There were 47 participants, 77% of them were women. A positive variability was obtained between the different tests. Conclusion: Most of the students do not have a fully optimal level of muscle strength; For this reason, it is suggested to encourage strategies that promote regular physical activity.
