Summary:This research project focuses on studying the concept and contemporary understanding of outsourcing in Colombia. It establishes a hermeneutical analysis that identifies some of the most important topics regarded to Outsourcing, and they are expressed in three chapters. The first chapter describes the historical foundation, evolution and categories of outsourcing. The second chapter describe applicability and regulations of outsourcing in Colombia, finding the advantages and disadvantages of it, explaining some of the problems that the outsourcing processes reveals. Finally, this project will take the perception of company’s employees and employers, as long as the last ones understand it as an administrative tool, but the first ones as an issue that contrasts the benefits between direct hire employees and those outsourced.
