description	The awareness of death is probably a challenging topic for our contemporary society, since it has been placed outside of current human concerns. Therefore, in this review article, after conducting an exploratory research, which allowed to collect, organize, and select, the relevant information for the delimitation, approach and conceptualization of this subject, it is intended to highlight some of the expositions presented in the XX and XXI centuries about the awareness of death and its implication as an authentic way of life, through diverse perspectives such as: anthropological, psychological, philosophical, social, religious and artistic. Hence in the article it is evidenced that the awareness of death, the own death, promotes the appropriation of the existence, because it is through this awareness that the human being can understand his own- power – to - be , where going forward (as a project to death) reveals itself as the most proper possibility of being - there, which will make possible not only the responsibility of the self, but also the opportunity to connect with our own historicity, with the essence of our being, thus achieving , the vital sense of integrity which will allow to those who choose this path, to live more fully, because the human being is assumed in the full awareness of his existence, becoming ultimately responsible for his life, and even for his own death

Por lo tanto, en este artículo de revisión, después de realizar una búsqueda exploratoria, que permitiera recolectar, organizar y seleccionar la información relevante para la delimitación, abordaje y conceptualización del tema, se pretende evidenciar algunos planteamientos expuestos en los siglos XX y XXI acerca de la conciencia de muerte y su implicación como forma de vida auténtica, a través de diversas perspectivas como la antropológica, la psicológica, la filosófica, la social, la religiosa y la artística. En el artículo queda evidenciado que a partir de la conciencia de muerte, de la propia muerte, se promueve la apropiación de la existencia, ya que es a través de ésta que el ser humano puede comprender su poder – ser – más propio, donde el adelantarse ( como proyecto hacia la muerte) se revela como la posibilidad más propia del ser - ahí, que posibilitará no solo la responsabilidad del sí mismo, sino también la oportunidad de conectar con nuestra historicidad, con la esencia de nuestro ser, logrando así, la integridad de un sentido vital que permitirá al hombre que elija este camino, vivir más plenamente, pues el ser humano se asume en la plena conciencia de su existencia, volviéndose finalmente responsable frente a la vida, e incluso frente a la propia muertepdf34 páginasRecurso en lineaapplication/pdfLotero, Carolina.
