Description
Summary:The present work proposes a design of an inventory control system for the accessories and consumables warehouse for tire assembly and sale centers in Rubber Vulk Colombia SAS, this initiative arises in the first place from the analysis of the existing units in the inventory in order to calculate the inventory accuracy between the units that are displayed in the system vs the physical ones in the warehouse. Second, the way in which references are organized in the rooms belonging to the winery, seeking to improve mobility, visualization and reduce fatigue mainly of the warehouse assistant. Thirdly, in the analysis stage, when searching for historical data trying to solve the two previous parts, there was a lack of data collection of logistic processes in the company, for which purpose it was decided to propose and develop the engineering tools for inventories in an empirical way. The proposal focuses mainly on generating a real inventory policy that provides good practices in inventory management, guaranteeing a safety inventory and maximum stock levels without affecting service levels to customers in the inventory replacement cycles. For the development of the proposal, a background study is carried out on inventory control designs and a literature review to develop an ABC classification taking into account its financial relevance in sales, among other factors such as rotation on a monthly basis. Additionally, with the help of the monthly demands of the aforementioned references (accessories and consumables), a forecasting system is developed that helps reduce uncertainty when planning the supply, since it is possible to determine consumption behavior knowing if you are demands rise, decrease or if its fluctuation remains constant over time. However, to finalize, a policy of review of inventories is proposed that adapts to each product and its demand, thus obtaining control in the quantities of inventory.
