Summary:	When it comes to explaining the conditioning factors that lead to the consumption of drugs, a great diversity of elements is observed among which are: The economic conditions and the social relations in which the individual develops, being these factors those that contribute to the understanding of this problem, taking into account not only its massive nature, but also that it affects the health of individuals; Therefore, it is imperative to emphasize the importance of nursing professionals as health care agents, focused on the design and execution of health promotion programs and prevention of the disease against drug use. For all the above, this systematic review was aimed at identifying the living conditions in the initial consumption of psychoactive substances of the adolescent and the addictive consumption of the young adult with mental illness, through the review of scientific articles. For the fulfillment of this, the search and systematization of the data was carried out by means of inclusion criteria such as the time of publication and that were in languages such as English, Portuguese and Spanish, this search showed as a result that the living conditions in the that the individual develops are framed by individual particularities, and by the historical, political, economic and social context in which the adolescent develops is intimately linked with the consumption of psychoactive substances. Finally, it is recommended to carry out research by nursing professionals in the face of this social problem in order to generate standardized interventions in the nursing care plan for this type of population.
