Cultural ecosystem services are a topic that has emerged significantly since 2012. This article shows the rise of cultural ecosystem services, based on a review of databases and indexed journals in which articles were published. Specifically related to this topic, with the aim of recognizing the trends and approximations in this period of time. From this, trends related to evaluation and / or valuation, methods, opportunities and / or challenges, indicators, perceptions were found, where the greatest production of knowledge has been seen in the first two topics. In addition to this, it was found that most of the publications were made on the European continent and that much more research is needed in Latin America. The inclusion of the study of cultural ecosystem services is left as a precedent, not only for decision-making, but as a proposal to continue including the dialogue of knowledge and thus continue to highlight the valuable study of these services that represent a growing academic challenge.
