Summary: | Given the importance of the challenge of the rapid growth of cities, there is a need to generate territorial improvement strategies that contain cross approaches, able to interpret the complexity generated between processes of expansion and natural ecosystems. Therefore the aim of this study was to establish the relationships between the main ecological structure, as a fundamental component of urban expansion, and the city of Bogotá – Colombia, as a process of accelerated growth characteristic of the last two decades. When employing a method with emphasis on complex relationships, the design of a model of local development was achieved, with criteria of multi-spatial, multi-temporal and multi-objective nature, adjusted with the participation of the communities in two districts and the use of geographic information systems. |
