Description
Summary:This paper analyzes the Science, Technology and Innovation National System (SNCTI by its acronym in Spanish) and how it influences the sustainable development in Mexico. In this article, we approach the topic by a historical view since 1950, when the National Institute of Scientific Research was established. We report the evolution of SNCTI including its organization, operating funds, human resources and its relationship with the private sector. It examines how the system influenced the development of knowledge and technology on the environment, and the capacities of the country to train human resources in the area. Moreover, this system will be related with different programs that the Federal Government administration create for the sustainable development in Mexico.
