However, it is necessary to investigate the acute changes that strength training generates on the lipid profile of young university students. Objective: To determine the changes generated in the lipid profile of young university students after strength training. Methodology: A group of 37 young university students (15 women of 20.66 ± 1.79 years and 22 men of 20.63 ± 5.65 years), carry out a strength training session. Blood lipoprotein concentrations were examined before and after performing strength training. To know the effect of training, the t-student test was applied for paired samples and the Pearson test to correlate the lipid profile with other variables. Results: Significant changes were observed in decreased LDL concentrations and increased triglycerides. Positive and moderate correlations were found between triglycerides and waist circumference, HDL, and men's maximum strength values. Negative correlations were found in women between triglycerides and maximum oxygen uptake, HDL, and maximum lower body force.Introducción: Las respuestas bioquímicas de las lipoproteínas a partir de la realización de programas de entrenamiento en fuerza ha sido estudiada (De Maulaz et al., 2008; Hamasaki, Kawashima, Tamada, & Furuta, 2015; Jiménez & Ramírez-vélez, 2011; Maltais et al., 2016; Ribeiro, Tomeleri, Souza, & Pina, 2015; Zanetti et al., 2016; Zapata, Cigarroa, Díaz, & Saavedra, 2015). Sin embargo, es necesario investigar los cambios agudos que genera el entrenamiento de fuerza sobre el perfil lipídico de jóvenes universitarios. Objetivo: Determinar los cambios generados en el perfil lipídico de jóvenes universitarios después de un entrenamiento de fuerza. Metodología: Un grupo de 37 jóvenes universitarios (15 mujeres de 20,66 ± 1,79 años y 22 hombres de 20,63 ± 5,65 años), realizan una sesión de entrenamiento de fuerza. Se examinaron las concentraciones de lipoproteínas en sangre antes y después de realizar un entrenamiento de fuerza. Para conocer el efecto del entrenamiento se aplicó la prueba t-student para muestras pareadas y la prueba de Pearson para correlacionar el perfil lipídico con otras variables. Resultados: Se observaron cambios significativos en la disminución de las concentraciones de LDL y aumento de los triglicéridos. Se hallaron correlaciones positivas y moderadas entre los triglicéridos y el perímetro de cintura, la HDL y los valores de fuerza máxima de los hombres.
