Description
Summary:The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), in its clinical practice guide published in 2010, proposes the scale of predictions for choledocholithiasis on patients with symptomatic cholelithiasis to make easier their intrahospital management and to diminish the complications of the pathology. For this reason, the validity of the scale was determined through the revision of patients older than 18 years old in the Clinic 100, within the period January-June 2017. To achieve this, an observational, descriptive and retrospective study with applied inclusion and exclusion criteria was realized on 178 clinical histories. By obtaining a sample of 117 clinical histories organized into a data base, the predictive positive and negative amount, and its sensibility and specificity were found by graphing with the ROC curve, which determined the validity of the studied scale. The results allowed to describe the characteristics of the population, showing that the female sex was the predominant one in terms of confirmatory analysis with a 52%, and and age range from 48 to 61 years. Moreover, 53% of the patients were classified as "high risk" and 9%, "medium risk", this in relation to the general sample, determining an 85% sensibility and 100% specificity for the scale. Finally, it was posible to conclude that the utility of the scale is trustworthy on patients in whom the disease is suspected, because its 89%-93% sensibility is close to the CPRE (golden pattern in the diagnosis of choledocholithiasis).
