Summary:Biological rhythms are related to the regulation of normal physiological phenomena, but also are present in pathological processes. Many diseases have a pattern of rhythmicity in time terms; these changes may affect the individual response to treatment regimens. These changes and variability are studied from a discipline that integrates chronobiology and pharmacology, the chronopharmacology. From nursing it is important to determine the chronopharmacological variations, in order to establish the proper administration of one or more drugs and guarantee the efficiency of drug therapy.
