Summary: | Dengue has become in a public health problem, cases has been increasing in the last years. In Colombia this disease is characterized by being in an outbreak, since the 90% of the country has the favorable conditions so the vector Aedes Aegypti and a lesser extent Aedes Albopictus. For these reason health entities from Colombia and all over the world have had to develop monitoring and control programs for these disease and try to decrease the number people affected for this virus. Objective: Identify sociodemographic and environmental determinants on dengue’s incidence in the municipalities of Anapoima and La Mesa Cundinamarca between the years 2007-2015.Materials and methods: The present study is divide in two components, first component is an ecological design of time series of dengue’s monthly cases and meteorological data and de second component is a cross-sectional analytical design, in which the sociodemographic and environmental characteristics were detailed from the population of both municipalities. The instrument of data recollection for the first component was a data base from IDEAM, for the second component, a poll was utilized with 21 questions about social-environmental determinants. After obtaining the information, these were entered in Excel 2013 version, SPSS and Epidat 3.1-4.1 in order to do the analysis. Results: It was found that in both municipalities, most cases of dengue were present in the lower economical stratum. In relation with meteorological variables it was evident that in La Mesa the highest temperature and average temperature are related with the cases of dengue, in contrast to relative humidity that wasn’t significant in the development of the disease. Conclusions: It was observed that there is a direct relationship between temperature and dengue disease and also an inverse relationship between the disease’s incidence and life conditions from the population, with the lower stratum being the most affected. |
