Costos médicos directos de procedimientos quirúrgicos abdominales mediante laparoscopia y cirugía abierta y sus complicaciones en el mercado colombiano 2014

Now, in Colombia there are carried out a great number of surgical procedures in the different Entities of Health. Due to the constant advance in Technologies of Health, a new modality of surgery has been implemented: the laparoscopy (also so called Minimally Invasive Surgery), since the procedure is carried out by means of small incisions, reducing this way the risk of infections and other complications, allowing a recovery to the patient in minor time, less painful and more agreeable aesthetically. Having in it counts the tariff manuals of the ISS, SOAT 2015 and of an IPS of high complexity (external supplier), the total cost of surgical abdominal procedures of agreement to the calculations realized with values of the SOAT 2015 for opened surgery is of $13.784.773,75 whereas for surgery laparoscopic is of $8.909.612,64. Likewise, in agreement to the calculations realized with the values of the external supplier the surgical abdominal procedures realized by opened surgery have a total cost of $16.192.312,71 in comparison to the laparoscopic with a total cost of $10.630.673,89. On the Colombian market, the diffusion of realizing surgical abdominal procedures for laparoscopy seems to show a progressive trend in the decrease of costs in comparison with the opened surgery. So much for ISS, the SOAT 2015 and the External Supplier, the costs generated by complications in surgery laparoscopic are minor to the costs of the testing procedure. For this, it is possible to affirm that the cost generated by complications in opened surgery represents a very significant percentage (48,94 % to 63,19 %) in the total cost of surgical abdominal procedures on the Colombian market. For this, in agreement to the obtained results, it is possible to analyze that the surgery laparoscopic presents major operative costs, but minor cost associated with post-surgical complications, being this dominant strategy, which implies that the ideal decision is the implementation of this new technology, without leaving of side the opened surgery, since this type of surgery is that of major and easier access.
